I mean, it helps that the designs are beautiful, the details are on-point, and the textures are incredibly Scandinavian-classy. That’s primarily why I fell in love with this Naturalis Bedroom pack. I’m still of the opinion that all the beds in The Sims 4 would look better if you could change the colors of the frame, mattress, pillow, and blanket individually. SIMcredible! gives us what the TS4 base game can’t: bed customization. ![]() Set Contains: 14 Items (Furniture and Décor Objects) This is getting really lengthy, so I’m gonna wrap it up here. Yup!Īnd if the wall deco just isn’t doing it for you, the other major deco option in this pack is these incredibly artsy classically-minimalist picture frame designed to lean against walls or corners. It also comes with several different frameless pictures (all different designs) so that you can mix, match, and customize your own wall decorations. Okay, so this pack has a picture-less wooden frame that comes in four colors: oak, dark wood, light wood, and gray-blue. But the decorations are what got me crazy excited. The furniture items are all feature truly minimal designs. There are 25 new objects (including a single and double bed, a drawer, work table, two floor lamps, and the tiniest little potted plant), 2 new wall textures (both having this nice, soft-wood texture and color), and 2 new floor textures (that are just as dreamy as the wall). My Sims settle in EA builds for goodness sake. And I am in no way, shape, or form, a Sims 4 builder. Next freaking level.Įvery piece that I put down made me want to design multiple bedrooms. Look at those tree-branch-style bookshelves and those beautiful wood-texture patterns and tell me you’re not hopelessly in love. I just didn’t realize how freaking stunning they can be together until I saw this pack. Clean lines, minimal extravagance, less clutter… so it makes sense that the two would complement each other. Scandinavian and Japanese designs share a lot of similar principles. If anything, the creator knocked it out of the park. The title alone gave me insanely high expectations for the set – especially since both Scandinavian and Japanese-style interiors are incredibly gorgeous – and the results did not disappoint. I swear, this fusion concept by TS4 CC creator Pilar is genius. I figured I’d start this article with my second-favorite CC pack (my favorite being illogicalsim’s Fanmade Stuff Pack at number 5) out of the entire haul. Whether a resident of our assisted living or our memory, every detail of the senior living community, its amenities, and its programs are chosen. The neighbors are probably one of the best things about the place. Each Maple Ridge cottage apartment is designed with aging in mind when you move in, you’ll find a home. I had the best neighbors I've ever had while living there. It is a very nice place to live, and is basically it's own self contained "city". Maple Ridge is *independent* living, so they don't have doctors or nurses on staff. They also updated the carpeting and wallpaper in the hallways in 2019. Just before I moved, they did some fresh landscaping on both the east and west sides of the building, and had done some very nice seating and tables on the west side in front of the waterfall. They'd gone back to serving in the dining room before I moved, with meal service to people's apartments if they felt more comfortable with that. They were sending meals up to all the apartments because the dining room was closed because of the pandemic. I have no idea how they're doing with that now, but while I lived there, they did a very good job at sanitizing things, and strongly suggesting everyone wear a mask. I lived there through the start of the pandemic into August of 2020, and they did a good job at keeping the virus out of the building. The only thing I wasn't that big a fan of was the long walk from the elevators to my apartment (it was long to me. If you don't want to go do your own grocery shopping, I know from experience that Walmart and Hyvee will both deliver. Views from the apartments are all very nice (at least the ones that I've been inside). If you don't like or don't want to eat the meals provided in the dining room downstairs, they have very nice full kitchens in the apartments with lots of space. The employees are all pretty awesome, and I heard that they have new managers there that some of my friends who still live there said are very nice. I thought Maple Ridge was the nicest place to live in Omaha. After she went to skilled nursing, and then passed away in December 2019, I stayed there till late summer of 2020. I lived there for a couple of years, moved there with my mom in 2018. I absolutely loved living there, and still consider it "home". They had long hallways, but otherwise the facility, common areas, and the apartments were very lovely. My husband can't walk through a buffet line, but they will have servers who can help bring his food to him at the table, so that's very helpful. They serve buffet style, which is very nice, instead of having a plated dinner. I checked the dining area, but I did not have a chance to check the food itself. They will bring the meal to you at no extra charge. ![]() The three meals a day are included in the rental plan, but there's no charge if you want to eat in your apartment. That is so handy, especially in inclement weather. You can rent a garage, but they will bring the car to the front door, and when you return they will take your car to the garage. Other amenities like their valet or concierge parking have no charge. Also, one of the positive things that my husband and I liked was that the meal plan is included in the unit rental. They offer an amazing array of amenities. The environment and the furnishings seemed very, very homey. He answered all my million questions personally and took me on a tour of the common areas, and I was even able to see two-bedroom and one-bedroom units. The senior living consultant, Ray, was wonderful with information and gracious hospitality. The overall experience was very positive. ![]() It’s not 100% accurate but I’ve found Google Translate to be quite good. With Google Translate you still need to double check the translations. When two waves combine, their displacements add, causing either a lesser or greater total displacement depending on the phase difference between the two waves. The very heart of the explanation of all diffraction phenomena is interference. ![]() Augustin-Jean Fresnel did more definitive studies and calculations of diffraction, published in 18, and thereby gave great support to the wave theory of light that had been advanced by Christiaan Huygens and reinvigorated by Young, against Newton's particle theory. Explaining his results by interference of the waves emanating from the two different slits, he deduced that light must propagate as waves. In 1803 Thomas Young did his famous experiment observing diffraction from two closely spaced slits. James Gregory (1638–1675) observed the diffraction patterns caused by a bird feather, which was effectively the first diffraction grating. Isaac Newton studied these effects and attributed them to inflexion of light rays. The results of Grimaldi's observations were published posthumously in 1665. The effects of diffraction of light were first carefully observed and characterized by Francesco Maria Grimaldi, who also coined the term diffraction, from the Latin diffringere, 'to break into pieces', referring to light breaking up into different directions. Sound waves can diffract around objects, this is the reason we can still hear someone calling us even if we are hiding behind a tree.ĭiffraction can also be a concern in some technical applications it sets a fundamental limit to the resolution of a camera, telescope, or microscope. Ocean waves diffract around jetties and other obstacles. All these effects are a consequence of the fact that light is a wave.ĭiffraction can occur with any kind of wave. A shadow of a solid object, using light from a compact source, shows small fringes near its edges. Diffraction in the atmosphere by small particles can cause a bright ring to be visible around a bright light source like the sun or the moon. This principle can be extended to engineer a grating with a structure such that it will produce any diffraction pattern desired the hologram on a credit card is an example. The most colorful examples of diffraction are those involving light for example, the closely spaced tracks on a CD or DVD act as a diffraction grating to form the familiar rainbow pattern we see when looking at a disk. The effects of diffraction can be readily seen in everyday life. 5.1 Diffraction from an array of narrow slits or a grating.5 Quantitative description of diffraction.4 Qualitative observations of diffraction.1 Examples of diffraction in everyday life.
